Benewah County Humane Society Awarded $1,000 From Million Cat Challenge
Made Possible by a Grant from Maddie’s Fund® #ThanksToMaddie
The Million Cat Challenge is a shelter-based 5-year campaign to save the lives of 1 million cats in North America by offering every animal shelter in every community practical choices to reduce euthanasia and increase live outcomes. Benewah County Humane Society (BCHS) registered to participate in Million Cat Challenge in the spring, 2016 and completed all the necessary requirements for funding. BCHS’ personal Million Cat Challenge was to spay/neuter 138 felines before December 31, 2016. Under the supervision of Margaret “Peggy” Imbrie, Community Cat Program Coordinator, over 250 felines were sterilized! BCHS gratefully acknowledges Maddie’s Fund for this grant award which will be used to purchase medical supplies for T-N-R (Trap-Neuter-Return) surgery clinics held monthly.
