Hope Clopton (1916-1998)

Hope Clopton generously left funds to the Benewah Humane Society (incorporated in 1989), which enabled BHS to purchase the land and building.  The existing building was a warehouse in need of major remodeling -- plumbing needed to be added, as well as a number of other things being changed.

Hope's Haven Animal Shelter was able to open in July 2001.
